What does all this mean?

We at Ballingar Labradors are extremely committed to providing you with a purebred Labrador puppy so that your expectations of the breed are met.

All of our breeding Labradors have been genetically tested for every possible disease that they can be tested against; this includes DNA for PRA,EIC,Myopathy,Cystinuria,Narcolepsy and many more.

We even test for their coat colour genetics to see whether they carry another colour in their parentage, this knowledge is crucial to us when we want to breed other colours. For instance our Black Girl Suitiani is a Gorgeous Black Labrador her mother (Dam) is yellow and her father (Sire) is chocolate. This is signified as a trait.

Our Labradors are x-Rayed for Hip and Elbow dysplasia and graded accordingly. Our scores are extremely low and most are of 0/0 the score is out of 106 and the higher the score the worse the Hip and Elbow defect that can occur. Ours are negligible.

We present all of our Labradors to our veterinary surgeon for a full Physical Examination before breeding them. They are assessed on General appearance, body condition, Posture and Gait, Nose, Ears, Oral cavity, Heart Auscultation,Trachea,Abdomen,Limbs and Joints, neurological and skin and coat condition. And of course their behaviour. They all pass with flying colours.

With all this information we have demonstrated that at BallingarLabs we have done everything possible to insure that the puppy that you receive from us has been bred with the up most care and attention to detail. The breeding that has taken place has been carefully chosen to reflect an even balance with the genes they will inherit, as this plays a crucial part in determining what your puppy will turn out like.
